"Take care of yourself. Eat well, rest train hard and smart make time to think and breathe. Be intentional with your time" - Kristin Armstrong Author and Runner

That is totally my plan today!!

The last few days have been interesting. I was 193 and then went swimming woke up and I was 191 then the next day I did some (sloppy) miles but I felt good so yesterday I did five but then went a did a few laps mainly to cool off but I did do some and I woke up today at 188....now, I haven't been that low for many years. So I am very excited! My whole thought for months about my weight is, "if I can just loose this weight I can run faster!" And now, its like just dropping off! I only swam 2x and not very much.

ANYWAYS I have been bouncing back and fourth and back and fourth with the thought of a 1/2 Marathon. I go through days where I just know I can do it. Then most other days I think how unrealised? I want to do it well. I don't want to walk or hobble across the finish line or take 4 hours to do so. Its been no secret on how slow I've been but what has shown some truth to how slow I am is that when I go longer I'm alittle faster. That was helpful in me making a decision to go or to not go.

So, after the loss of some of this weight I started thinking hmm...if I'm going to do that I probably need to see what 13.1 miles feels like? So, I decided not to run today and drink fluids and eat correctly and everything I know about having a good run and try it tomorrow. Even if I walk, I want to know what a 1/2 Marathon feels like. The one I want to go on is not a difficult course so I feel comfortable knowing it may be hard but I'm not going to kill myself :-)

Preparing for thirteen point one miles.....Rest Day

  1. You will love the half marathon distance. I think it is great! You feel so powerful (although tired) after!
